Why the 27 MHz band?

  • Nearly global support, whereas other sub 1GHz frequencies (315/433/868/915) are not.

  • Only one device required, rather than multiple devices per country/continent.

  • No duty-cycle limitations.

  • Supports remote control and telemetry.

  • Nearly global support for 100mW remote control.

  • Best water penetration of all sub 1GHz frequencies (allows to go to the bottom of swimming pools, 3 metres or more).

  • Six RF channels available (26.995, 27.045, 27.095, 27.145, 27.195 and 27.255).

  • Two different RF strategies. LMR0 and LMT0 receiver and transmitter modules from Radiometrix or the AX5043 transceiver IC from ONSEMI.

  • Interference with CB radios is considered an accepted risk (use a small world receiver to check the sailing location). RC model submarines surface when they no longer receive a valid signal.
